Accomplished Pharmacist and former President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria Pharm Ahmed Yakassai FPSN was chairman of the committee in charge of Accommodation and Venue at the recent coronation of the 15th Emir of Kano Aminu Ado Bayero. About 80 Emirs, Obas, Ooni's and Obi's attended with so many Governors, ministers led by Nigeria's Vice President and Chief of Staff to the President. According to Premium Times there were also representatives of traditional rulers from Niger Republic and Cameroun.
Pharm Yakassai's experience and excellence in management led to his appointment to chair the sensitive committee on Accommodation and Venue. As expected the occation was hitch free. Pharm Yakassai had earlier led the Emir on a tour of the large venue at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano. (Watch video below.). According to Pharm Yakassai his handling of the coronation committee was based on the NIPSS (Nigeria Institute of Strategic Studiee) style manual.
Ahmed Yakasai who is an alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He is a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) Board of Trustees. He is a two term Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, Cooperative and Tourism (2005- 2010) and Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning (2010-2011) in Kano State. He is also the founder of Ahmed Yakasai Community service Award of N300,000.00 awarded to Community Pharmacies annually. He is the CEO of Pharmaplus Nigeria Ltd.
Ahmed I Yakasai is an Honorary Consul-General of Pakistan in Nigeria, and Member Board of Trustees Society for Family Health (SFH). He is a fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society Of Nigeria, Fellow Institute of Logistics Management of Nigeria, Fellow Chartered Institute of Commerce, Fellow Nigeria Academy of Pharmacy, Fellow Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) , Fellow, African Institute of Public Health Professionals and Distinguished Fellow, Professional Excellence Foundation of Nigeria (PEFON) . He is the Enyi Dioronma of Umuzike 1 Orlu, Imo State.
